摘要：An information providing apparatus provides a menu to a portable terminal and,when an item is selected from the menu by the user of the portable terminal, provides

detailed information about the item. The information providing apparatus has an IC-tagreader that corresponds to a menu item and performs short-distance wirelesscommunication with the portable terminal held thereover. Upon receiving, from theportable terminal that has received input information, the input information via the IC-tagreader through short-distance wireless communication, the information providingapparatus performs a predetermined process corresponding to the menu item based onthe input information and predetermined identification information.
